HIPAA compliance lives in how the system is designed — not in a logo on the homepage. Coquí's clinical tier is built on a posture that minimizes our role as a Business Associate by design, keeps patient data inside the systems your clinic already trusts, and gives you full ownership of the infrastructure.

Cloudflare-first deployment, with full ownership transfer.

Coquí deploys your portal to a Cloudflare Pages instance under your account — global CDN, automatic SSL, built-in DDoS protection, and serverless API proxying through Workers. Roughly $0–20/month in hosting costs, billed to you directly. Vercel and DigitalOcean are also supported on request. When the build finishes, the entire repository, deployment access, and DNS control are transferred to you. The retainer covers ongoing care, not hostage hosting.

When a platform updates their API.

Each integration is built as its own isolated module. When a platform changes their API, only that module is affected — all other integrations continue working without interruption. No rebuild of the full portal is ever required for an API change. Most fixes ship inside the same business day; a typical agency would queue them for a release cycle weeks out.

What clients ask before they start.

If the portal goes down, do all our systems stop working?
No. The portal is a window into your systems — not the systems themselves. Your EHR, CRM, communications platform, and operations board all run independently. If the portal is temporarily unreachable, your team accesses each platform directly. You lose the unified view, not the underlying tools.
Who owns the portal once it's built?
You own everything — the code, the server account, the domain, and the full deployment. The monthly retainer covers ongoing management and optimization, but it is optional. You can hand the portal to any developer for continued management. Full documentation is provided at handoff.
How long does the build actually take?
Faster than industry standard, by design. Small business engagements ship in five to seven business days. Clinical Starter ships in three weeks. Clinical Standard runs four to five weeks. Most agencies quote two to three times these timelines for comparable scope. The schedule clock pauses if client-side dependencies (API credentials, BAA confirmations, staff training time) aren't ready — and we're explicit about this in the contract so there's no ambiguity later.
What is the Claude AI component?
An AI assistant configured specifically for your business — trained on your protocols, services, team structure, and intake processes. Staff ask questions in plain language and receive accurate, context-aware answers. It reduces training time, improves consistency, and is updated as part of the monthly retainer as your business evolves.

What if we want to add a platform after launch?
Any platform not declared before the build is scoped as a separate integration. It goes through the same pre-build audit — eligibility, API documentation — and is priced and scheduled individually. Timeline is typically one to two weeks per new integration depending on the platform.
